On Hairbrushes

For the summer, Mom decided to give us this project (she gives us an object and we write about it). So for today, it’s a hairbrush.

On Hairbrushes.

What is a hairbrush!

If not, a spiked hog

with a handle and bristles

and a face like a bog.

A comb of thistles thin

A forest of spindle sticks

a handle very hefty, and

a hairpiece like toothpicks

Not only is it stiff

Not only is it handy

but polish it with cloth and wax

and it looks fine and dandy.

Its cousin is a toothbrush

Its mother is a comb

but give it a head of tangled hair

and there!

it makes its home.
